Welcome to 65 Shillings Menswear
65 Shillings Menswear was established with the core philosophy of providing quality men’s attire at an affordable price; helping gentlemen dress with elegance. This collection is derived from influences of British, French and American menswear from the 1920s to the 1950s.
Why 65 Shillings? Around 1903, under the name Montague Burton, Lithuanian immigrant Meshe David Osinky opened his first shop in Chesterfield, United Kingdom. He promised to dress each gentleman for “65 shillings”.
Our collection is focused on providing the modern gentleman with a varied selection of coats, jackets and trousers. These pieces can be worn as a set or mix-matched to provide an abundance of options.
Each 65 Shillings garment has been confectioned in small batches with the utmost love, care and attention to detail, beginning with a methodical high quality fabric selection. Then, using a traditional patternmaking technique, we draft each pattern by hand, combining the vintage aestethic with modifications to accomodate the modern physique. We take pride in utilising artisans based in Barcelona whom we found through personal connections.
Additionally, each collection is limited, with the ambition to retain our customers’ sense of individuality. New and interesting fabrics are offered for each subsequent collection.
